Áskot Cottages are brand new self-catering vacation homes located on a family run horse ranch in the magical South Iceland – a mere 90 km from Reykjavík and just off Route 1.
The cottages are strategically positioned to capture the breathtaking views of the Westman Islands, Eyjafjallajökull as well as a field of grazing horses.
Our cottages have every amenity you might require; a tiled bathroom with a walk-in shower and a well-equipped kitchenette with a dishwasher as well as a washer/dryer. And of course we offer free WiFi and private parking.
But the cherry on top of our cake is a free and private Car Charger for each house.

A real “room with a spectacular view” over a glacier and our most renowned volcanic islands; Eyjafjallajökull and the Westman Islands.
The Icelandic horse is famous and much loved all around the world … and even though they don’t all come from Áskot … this is the area where many professional horse breeders live.
Every cottage has it’s own private car charging station.
So you can start each adventurous day “fully charged”.
There is nothing more calming than watching our friendly horses stoically grazing nearby …
Let us introduce ourselves …
We are Gréta and Steinar who in 2020 decided to make a lifelong dream come true by buying a farm and moving to the countryside. Horses have always been our life and joy … so to us it came naturally to make it all about those majestic creatures. We now not only breed horses but run a training center for them … with the only horse swimming pool in the country.
Hospitality is another one of our passions so in 2023 we decided to build a few luxurious – yet cozy – cottages for tourists seeking tranquillity after an eventful day on the road.
We wanted to create a real “home away from home” … with emphasis on privacy, peace and pleasure for our guests.
We are proud to proclaim: Mission accomplished!
Each house has a comfortable King size bed (which can easily be turned into two single beds) and a high quality sofa bed.
Our linen is 100% cotton and the sheets and pillows hypoallergenic.
This is the perfect place to relax, reflect, read or listen to good music through the Bluetooth speakers provided.
